Orientation in Beijing
Today was an early day. Eager to start our day, we were up at 6am. We ate breakfast here at the hotel. It was a Chinese/American buffet. We played it safe eating the America foods, chocolate croissants, french toast, and grapefruit juice. It was yummy. We then found the business center to hook up with the internet.
At 9:30am we met with Les from Holt for our orientation. He gave us a brief overview of what the adoption process is like in China. He also gave us this amazing silk covered book with updated pictures of the girls and new information. The girls are all bundled up in yellow and red snow suits. They looked like little State Puff Marshmellows. Lele (Avery) is still holding onto her pencils and Huan Huan (Sophie) is giggling and laughing. They look so identical it is difficult to tell them apart. Both girls love cartoons and do not like animals. Well , that won't last. How can anyone not love Barnacle? It may take a little longer to get used to Nala.
After our orientation we had a traditional Chinese meal. I know no one would believe it- so we took a picture of Kate eating. We had beef, pork, rice, soup, and cooked cabbage and mushroom dish. No cabbage for Kate thank you. Doug tried everything (it was good!)
Then we were off to Tiannman Square and the Forbidden City.
